Flower Flower Water Light: Time to Think

I’m currently showing 2 images from Flower Flower Water Light as part of Time to Think, curated by Shutter Hub.

Time to Think is a photographic exhibition reflecting on the work of workmen in the 21st Century and celebrating female-identifying photographers.

145 female photographers / 435 images / 15 different countries

All showing at @festivalpilours St Gilles Croix de Vie, France, from 1st July to 31st August.

Encore: Shutter Hub OPEN in Amsterdam!

The 2018 Shutter Hub OPEN in London was such a success that the show has moved to Amsterdam for an encore lasting over a month! I’ve got two images in the exhibition, which is printed entirely on newsprint and looks stunning.

Shutter Hub Open!

Shutter Hub OPEN 2018

In collaboration with The Newspaper Club, Shutter Hub brings together international photographers in a selected exhibition of over 200 images. I’m very happy to have two images in the exhibition, and I’m excited to see how they’ll translate to newsprint.

There will be an award for the ‘Best in Show’, where viewers will get to vote for their favourite photograph from the exhibition, and alongside the exhibition Shutter Hub will be hosting portfolio reviews in the gallery space.

Shutter Hub is a photography organisation providing opportunities, support and networking for creative photographers worldwide. They provide the chance for photographers to professionally promote their work, access high quality opportunities and make new connections within the photographic community, through their website, in-person meet ups and exhibitions.

The Newspaper Club helps you to make and print your own newspapers, giving you the tools to turn whatever you want into newsprint, quickly and easily.

The exhibition will be part of London Photomonth. Photomonth celebrates photography in galleries and venues across East London. The Festival aims to demonstrate the diversity of contemporary photography and reach the widest possible audience.

Because We Can! Shutter Hub at Festival Pil’Ours

The Shutter Hub exhibition Because We Can opened on 8th July at Festival Pil’ours, Saint Gilles Croix de Vie, France – it runs until 31st August 2018.

Images from my projects Chasing Shadows and Flower Flower Water Light both feature in this group exhibition by 70 artists from all over the world, curated by Karen Harvey – Creative Director at Shutter Hub and designed by Tim Jukes.

Chasing Shadows

Festival Pil’Ours is a unique annual international festival showcasing the work of female-identifying photographers, taking place outdoors for 2 months – making the photographs visible and accessible to everyone who visits the town. Works can be found by chance, or by using a detailed map available throughout the town.

The physical exhibition, part of the MARCHLAND season of performances and talks is still on at The Bridewell Theatre, St Bride Foundation, Bride Lane, Fleet Street, London, EC4Y 8EQ.

It runs from 15th January – 16th April 2018 at the following times:

  • Mon – Fri, 10am – 6pm (viewed on request at St Bride Foundation reception)
  • 6.30pm – 11pm during theatre performances. Closed Easter Weekend

Flower Flower Water Light in BORDERS

My image from my series Flower Flower Water Light will be part of the SHUTTERHUB BORDERS exhibition, part of the MARCHLAND season of performances and talks.

The exhibition runs from 15th January – 16th April 2018 at The Bridewell Theatre, St Bride Foundation, Bride Lane, Fleet Street, London, EC4Y 8EQ.

The Private View is on 12th January from 6.30-9.30pm – everyone is welcome; RSVP to info@shutterhub.org.uk

Flower Flower Water Light is a travel diary of chaotic beauty and colourful abstraction, documenting a road trip through the landscapes of the UK, France, and Spain. Avoiding any deliberate regional classification, I allowed the images to form chronologically throughout my own journey and experiences, unifying the three countries into one emotional state.  Using triple exposures on 35mm slide film I chose to blend and to overlay flowers, plants, the land, and ripples of sunlight on the surface of the sea, thereby recording my journey in a series of ethereal images that emulate memory and movement through time and place.

Shutter Hub is a collective and online resource for photographers, created and maintained by photographers across the UK.

The purpose of Shutter Hub is to provide information, advice, networking and opportunities for all photographers; whether your interest is in fashion or forensics, PR or pinhole, landscape or lomography, Shutter Hub will have something for you.

BRIGHT – flower meets fence

Two images from my sketchbook project #flowermeetsfence have been chosen to be part of a lovely exhibition in the Atrium Gallery at St James’s Insitute of Oncology, Leeds.


Organised by Shutter Hub, the exhibition opens on Friday 5th August and runs 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, until October 26th 2016. 

The full address is St James’s Institute of Oncology, Bexley Wing, St James’s University Hospital, Beckett Street, Leeds, LS9 7TF.

Featuring a wide range of photographers, the exhibition is described as a colourful, inspiring and intriguing body of work. 25% of all sales from the exhibition will go to the Yorkshire Cancer Centre Appeal.

One of the largest in the UK and treating 2000 patients each day, St James’s offers integrated cancer services for the people of Leeds and is a specialist centre for patients with cancer in Leeds, Yorkshire and across the North of England.

The Yorkshire Cancer Centre Appeal is the fundraising arm of the centre, and provides specialist medical equipment, research and development and patient ‘home comforts’.
